TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The crowds have cleared downtown and near the University of Arizona.

Many graduates have taken their degrees and their money back home with them.

But experts said an economic boost is on the way thanks to tourism.

Despite tourism increasing in the summertime, restaurant and business owners said businesses still see both a reduction in revenue and staff.

Downtown, midtown, foothills and restaurants near the UA all report a decline between 10 and 40 percent in profit during this time of year.

Staff is also cut anywhere from 20 to 40 percent.

Business owners say this is normal for this time of year, especially the first week that college is out.

Still, Tripadvisor just named Tucson as the No. 1 city to visit that won't "break your summer piggybank."

Numbers from Visit Tucson also speak highly of Tucson.

Officials with Visit Tucson credit their success in bringing in tourists to an ad campaign they released in the winter, which targets cities that have direct flights to Tucson, such as Chicago.
