TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Southern Arizona parents have something a lot of other parents do not, The right to choose where your child goes to school no matter where you live.

Today about 30 Tucson Unified School District students are gearing up for a real-life civics lesson to make sure parents get to keep that choice.

At 6:30 a.m. a bus will arrive at TUSD headquarters to take a group of students up to the capitol. They will join in on a rally to show their support for public education and school choice. The bus will arrive in Phoenix around 9 a.m., just in time for the march.

They are joining around 10,000 other people in Phoenix when the governor makes a speech about school choice at 11 a.m.

The celebration falls with National School Choice Week, the largest celebration of opportunity in education-- with more than 16,000 events being planned across the United States.

Morgan Kyrklund, @MorganTNN, speaks with those headed to Phoenix on Fox 11 Daybreak till 9 a.m.
