TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Are you interested in helping some furry friends celebrate the New Year with a walk?  Pima Animal Care Center is still looking for volunteers to help walk the dogs on Jan. 1.

According to PACC, there are only 30 people signed up for its annual New Year's Day dog walk and the registration deadline is today, Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to walk a dog alone and 11 to 15 if they are accompanied by an adult.  Register here.

The dog walk is from 10 a.m. to noon on Jan. 1, 2016 and is taking place at the PACC, 4000 N. Silverbell Road. Following the walk is a free adoption event from noon to 3 p.m. on all dogs and cats.

This all-inclusive offer includes each pet's spay and neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip, and a free vet visit, too. A $16 licensing fee will apply to all adult dogs.

In addition to the Jan. 1 festivities, PACC will extend the celebration through the end of the month with $20.16 adoption fees for all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. They will honor these reduced fees at the shelter and all four off-site PetSmart locations.
