TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Salvation Army Hospitality House on Main and Speedway is in desperate need of coats, scarves and gloves to help keep people living on the street warm, as the coldest night in three years is on the way.

The Salvation Army Hospitality House is gearing up to open its doors, for only the ninth time this year, as Tucson prepares for some of its coldest weather this year. The center opens up anytime temperatures dip below 35 degrees, but this shelter can only hold 100 people, hundreds more are left on the street each night. So those donations can make all the difference.

Here is a list of the items the Salvation Army needs most:

  • Coats (infants, children and adults)
  • Hats
  • Scarves
  • Gloves
  • Ear muffs

Food and monetary donations are also being accepted at The Salvation Army, at 1002 N. Main Avenue, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For more information or to donate by credit card, please call (520) 795-9671.
