TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A pretty big change is expected for fans at the UA men's basketball game Wednesday night at McKale Center, a clear bag.

It is all part of the new clear bag policy, which limits the size and type of bag that may be brought into any of the athletic venues. This new policy is similar to the one used at NFL games.

Here are a few examples of types of bags that can be brought in - bags that are clear and vinyl and measure 12 x 6 x 12, a one gallon freezer bag, or a small clutch.

According to the UA Athletic Department exceptions will be made for medically necessary items, after a proper inspection.  Officials at the U of A have said it made sense to adjust the policy to enhance public safety and to make venue access more efficient.

For the next two home games, staff at one of the five entrances at McKale will have one gallon freezer bags for those whose bags do not meet the requirements.
