MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Marana Unified School District bus drivers, who are on the road for 10,500 miles, carrying 6,000 students a day, are getting a little high-tech help in keeping those students safe.

The district is using a three-dimensional bus driving simulator similar to ones that a pilot would use to learn to fly as part of enhanced monthly training for their drivers.

The simulator allows bus drivers to safely train for different kinds of situations, such as bad drivers, equipment failure and weather issues, all without leaving the building.
