PINAL COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is hosting a free safety event Monday where they will hand out free drug test kits and teach parents the best ways to use child car seats.

The event is in partnership with the San Tan Valley Substance Abuse Coalition and Not My Kid youth education and resource organization. It will be at the Native New Yorker located at 1750 W. Hunt Highway on August 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p. m.

The event offers substance abuse prevention tools to families and communities in San Tan Valley just as kids are going back to school. As part of the event, Not My Kid will give away free drug test kits and substance abuse prevention plans.

Deputies will be on hand to help families learn how to properly install car seats, and they will have a limited number of free child car seats and booster seats for families that needed them. There will be 20 car seats and 36 booster seats available.
